What's the difference?

Does anybody know the exact difference between these two floor patch panels, other than one says "original style" Classic parts is not answering their phone or else I would ask them.

Re: What's the difference?

the original version the bends appear to be more crisp and probably fit better if you need to use the whole panel. the cheaper version will be fine if you only need to cut out a section of the panel to use.

Re: What's the difference?

Yeah after looking at them some more, it appears the cheaper version has more material in the direction of the firewall while the other version has more material towards the rear and center of the cab. I will go with the less expensive version since my burb has quite a bit of rot up on the toe boards.

Re: What's the difference?

I've tried to buy from them before but I had questions and could never actually talk to someone there before placing the order. I will try again. It seems well known that their customer service is lacking.

They are owned by key parts and based out of the key parts warehouse in Lynchburg. May have better luck calling that number. All the parts are on the Key parts page. http://www.keypartsonline.com/servle...ate/about/Page

Re: What's the difference?

Ratpin, a couple of things to consider: the panels I used (picked up at a swap meet) on my 66 were designated 60-66. they looked exactly like the ones you linked for 60-66.
1. the "dimples" for the body mounts are located differently in the early years (60-62). notice that they list an "original" style floor panel just for 60-66. I had to relocated the dimples an inch or so.
2. the panels I used did not have the proper depression shape stamped for the transmission tunnel, which complicated the attaching in that area. it appears that the original-style ones in your link do

nothing that can't be worked around. this stuff isn't going to fit perfectly anyway, but, depending on where your rust is located, you might want to check out the full length outer floor panels which have a much better shape up front and attach to the original flange. http://www.classicparts.com/1960-66-...info/45%2D933/ I can't tell from the picture in the link you supplied if the original style floor panel has the correct flange, I know the one-size-fits-all 60-66 panels I had didn't.
