Steering woes

Has anyone got an sbc350 fitted with a mustang front clip in a 47-53? I'm having issues with lining up steering with a Flamming River column

I used a double ujoint off the column and a support bearing between the ujoint and rack. Fabricated a bracket, welded to the frame and the support bearing takes the bind out of the double joint.

Borgsen has a great tutorial on their site for different configurations. Most use wood dowels or light electrical conduit with duct tape to mock it up and check angles. From there its figuring out what type of splines and shafts you need to mate up to.

I did ours but it was a big block. It took me a couple shots but I finally got it. Check out my build thread, page 14 post 334 there are a few pictures.

Yoshi, these pics may not help, because I moved my column down and over about 2" from stock location. Like OrrieG said I used wood dowel to line up and then cut my shaft to fit. Because each engine is mounted different, different headers, etc. it just a trial and error to make this fit...Jim
