Re: WTB:Blazer exhuast bracket
I think have have your bracket. I've been trying to get a good photo of it underneath the blazer but the photo doesn't come out. the body is still on the blazer so I dont' see an easy way to get to the top rivet on the frame yet. any ideas
Thanks |

Re: WTB:Blazer exhuast bracket
A 90* drill start out with a 1/8" bit and step it up to 3/8" is the only way I have removed those rivets without damage to the bracket.

Re: WTB:Blazer exhuast bracket
Use a die grinder to cut into the rivet head a couple times or more. Then just hammer and chisel the leftover pieces. Yank the bracket off. You just have to be careful with the grinder to not cut into the bracket so go slow when you get near the bracket. Busted at least a hundred this this way. By far the fastest method. I use an air hammer for the final busting.

The reddish vertical part w/ the holes and bit of rubber is a cheap generic bit you can find in any parts store. Google exhaust hanger for pics.
