Cutting a CPP 3" front coil?

I am running the 3"/4" drop kit from CPP. I would like another 3/4" to 1" drop up front. Anybody cut 1/2 coil off a CPP coil up front? Any issues? Recommendation/thoughts? I have about 3" of suspension left so I don't think it should be an issue. Just checking.

I believe if I was that close, I'd first take a hard look at running a shorter front tire. I've never cut one of their springs, btw.

Tires are brand new so not an option. Plus a shorter tire would make the gap larger. I've cut a set of Eibach springs on my 69 Camaro but not a set of CPP springs. Mainly asking that if someone has cut them before did 1/2 coil net a 1" drop...roughly. I want more of a rake in the front.

Re: Cutting a CPP 3" front coil?

I was in the same boat so to speak on my 70. I had 3" springs of unknown brand because I got them from a friend. I cut 1/2 coil off, the next time I jacked the truck up the front springs fell out on the floor. I would advise against it.

Cut half a coil. 1" extra drop, no issues, no change in the ride! It sits perfect now!

I have before. Need to take some after shots. I was so happy with the outcome I forgot to snap a few pics. I will update my build thread if my email starts working so I can pull off the photos.

3/4 CPP drop Before pic:

The extra 1" I took off yesterday really makes a difference. I will post after pics in a few days!
