72 K5 Valve Cover Grounds

I am restoring my 72 K5 and it did not have any valve cover ground wires hooked to the firewall! All other blazers and trucks that I have seen have them.Is there a reason mine does not have them, or did they just forget to put them on. I am trying to make up my mine if I want to add them or not!

Re: 72 K5 Valve Cover Grounds

Pickups have a total of 6 ground straps - I'd replace your missing engine straps to keep the electrical system functioning well.

Here's a useful thread on ground straps: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...t=ground+strap

Re: 72 K5 Valve Cover Grounds

I've never seen ground straps to the valve cover directly. But there are a he ones deadhead said about the engine grounds. They are usually hooked to the heads not the valve cover.
