Wht did you get done 12/28/14 say goodbye to 2014 edition

Last post like this for the year...
I had a productive weekend.. my son had rigged up a bolt in the sensor location for my oil pressure switch as he didn't have the right fittings. I got that replaced with the fittings and stuff so the sensor is back in then I got the tilt steering column done in the truck too. I have to get the dash squared away and finish the plow assembly

on the project I got the manual master installed and some of the springs for the clutch linkage in. Gotta get the brakes bled

My buddy almost finished the Nissan 300z motor swap and we got the shell loaded on my trailer as well as a lot of scrap ..tomorrow that goes to the scrapper.. also another buddy gave me a DSM shell to send to the scrapper
How about you all?

Re: Wht did you get done 12/28/14 say goodbye to 2014 edition

fixed my turn signals by removing the cobbled together 4 wire trailer connector, replaced the snap in tag lights in the bumper, put in a new dipstick for the engine, and removed all the extra added on wiring that i could safely remove. also tweaked my tailgate latch linkages so that you can now open tailgate with out help of a screw driver

it really is amazing to me how much of a difference fixing small things can make in a truck.

next things to tackle are dome light, cigarette lighter, rewire radio, and tweak adjustment on doors to line up gaps better.

Ordered new lower ball joints. Otherwise not much is happening.

Put in a new starter, battery, and battery cables. The list of things that I haven't had to fix or replace is getting very small now. I also cleaned up and painted a nice grill I found, and upholstered my door panels.

Got my new bed lenses all swapped over for the bed. Sandblasted my Porterbuilt lower a-arms. Got them back to the shop, cleaned/degreased them, & shot them satin black.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Stole the battery out of the 77 to put in a tractor. Trying to decide what to do with my collection - too many worn out clunkers and no time.

I bought a '74 Jimmy to flip Saturday, and headed out to Texas Square Bodies Sunday. It was great finally getting to meet Tony after all of these years. I have a feeling that the Jimmy will probably end up staying, but I will keep telling myself it is going to be a flip anyhow.

Bring anything back from Tony's place?

I picked up a few odds and ends for my junk out there. I made the mistake of taking my daughter out there with me. I could have spent all day looking at a square body junkyard. I was able to get some stuff I wasn't using out there to Tony as well. That was almost as good.

Changed driver inner and outer fender on the M1028a1. Now no dents AND no rust.

Finished up the welding on my steering conversion and made a temporary mockup with the rack installation. Picked up some DD shaft and support bearing to hook it up to the column.
Then the sun came out so I went outside with my daughter for some fun in the snow with her quad bike.
