Re: "brake cleaner"
Brake cleaner works great and leaves no residue, but be careful. That stuff is deadly dangerous to ingest the fumes so work outside if you can and wear a respirator. That's one item where the warning labels should really be read before use.

. there's a reason it's called "parkinson in a can" . it seems like alot old wrenches or having issues like Liver and or bladder Cancer.! It's not about you. It's about the suffering of the one's that love you that is the issue If you become ill . and this coming from a guy who chewed alot of paint chip as a kid and drank alot of gasoline via garden hose......sp . .

Re: "brake cleaner"
Another option would be to go to Home Depot and get a gallon of mineral spirits and a couple cheap brushes. For some cleaning uses I prefer carb cleaner over brake clean. Of course you guys in California can't get the good stuff that the rest of us can.

Re: "brake cleaner"
if you are working for someone else and they are paying for the brake clean go ahead and use that. lots of it. if you are paying for it - use mineral spirits
