air tanks
where does everybody put there tanks on the ad truck and what size tank can you run 2-3gal tanks or one 5 gal tank. It will use be to air out and up not any crazy stuff. I have 2-444 Viair compressor. have any pics please post them

Here is where we put the tank, compressor and valves on my '48.
For the 'Burb I am planning a 3 gallon tank outside the frame rail between the running board brackets using two pumps. |

Thanks guys great set up. I was thought about the tanks behind the running boards one 3 gal tank be enough or one on each side

Great question. I just had that conversation last Friday with the builder of my chassis. He builds a lot of trucks http://www.tricktrucknrod.com/hh/Home.action
He uses one three gallon tank with the two compressor set up and claims it is sufficient. The key is recovery time for tank air pressure and the two compressors handle that. Since he has been in business building these for a long time for paying customers I figure his advice is good enough for me. That set up is for a system to enable me to simply raise the truck and drive away. Guessing if a person wants to raise and lower the truck multiple times in quick succession you may want more air storage capacity. Hope that helps?
