Kick Panel Speakers?
Does anyone know where I can buy some kick panel speakers? I've been looking all over the place at Crutchfield.com and the only thing I could find that might work in a 73 is a 81-91 enclosure. Will this fit in a 73 Chevy or I am I going to have to keep looking?
Thanks, - Ben

Go to www.thezeb.com. That is where I bought my kickpanel speaker enclosures by Q-Logic for my 78. Even though they don't list 1973 model, it should fit over your existing kickpanel. For speakers I bought Kicker 5.5's.

ok, cool, and thats another question I had, what speakers to use, thanks Mitch. Is there anything you can do to make your reciever more flush with the dash? When my brother put his in his truck he had to cut the dash up(which I know I will have to do anyway) and it didn't even mount up flush with the rest of the dash, anything I could do to make it look a little nicer?

Just looked at thezeb.com, says they only have 78-87 but I will give them a call sometime.
Thanks again, - Ben

BTW how are Sony Xplod speakers? And what would be the best ones to use in a truck like this or does it matter? I was thinking about just getting a Bazooka sub to save space...

The do come close to the emergency brake pedal but doesn't touch. You just got to be careful with your foot, otherwise you may put your foot into the mid-range speaker grill. Mike, "Swervin" has them install and there is a picture in his website.
