Just got done skimming your build thread, awesome work and an inspiration to what I am now going to do. I've been looking at a s10 swap but really didn't want to go that route. I really wanted to keep the truck/chassis intact.

How is the ride (suspension wise)?, mine wasn't running when I got it.

To be honest it rides rough. The leaf springs were pretty sacked out to begin with, and by removing 2 leaves it left me with not a lot of travel.

I am going to replace the leaf springs with new and hope it improves. If not......maybe IFS at some point down the road.

It'll only smooth out so much. Even mine with Mono Leafs, if has a smoother ride but nothing compared to an IFS set up. I'm thinking of swapping my set up out for the Nova clip I have sitting out in the yard

Here is my 55 1st series. Here it is on a 4" drop axle, 3" blocks and a few
Leaves removed. I do have pics of it with all of the leaves in if you are interested.

Re: Any pictures of Dropped Axle front ends?

Jeff, it is factory width and the tires do not rub at all. I did have issues with the steering linkage rubbing the leaves when I had the springs removed though.

Re: Any pictures of Dropped Axle front ends?

FWIW, the PO of my truck removed leaves from the original, already tired springs, in an attempt to lower the truck... needless to say the truck bottomed out easily.

Mono springs are a good way to go when looking at suspension mods because the spring rate doesn't change like it does when removing leaves.
