Speedo Cable
I'm cleaning up the engine bay on my '82 and since my truck is a street strip deal i'm ditching the cruise control. Anyone know what cable or a part number for a 1 piece cable that will work for me. Trans is a TH400 and I know I will have to play around with gears to get the calibration correct.

Re: Speedo Cable
pistonbroke, you might want to look at the last few pages of Gregski's topic:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=645440 He just changed his speedo cable and it was an adventure.

Re: Speedo Cable
The cruise control transducer has a 1:1 ratio.
Did you change the axle ratio or the drive gear on the transmission output shaft? If neither of those changed and you have the same speedo cable driven gear it should still be OK.

Re: Speedo Cable
They are not hard to change at all. If you need to change the bullet inside the trans, its a little harder. I melted 3 speedo cables on my c10. (Bagged, bodydropped, and blown). It doesnt take very long. The dash doesnt have to be removed either.
