Q-Jet I.D. help
The number on mine is nothing like the ones I see listed on sites for identification. Hoping to order proper rebuil kit. Any ideas?

Re: Q-Jet I.D. help
You have a remanufactured carb, it has been swapped at some point. Only way to tell what you have is to pull number and search it for correct application.

Re: Q-Jet I.D. help
If you try and resurrect you Q-jet with a simple rebuild kit, you wont achieve a really good result. Have the carb redone by a shop like 'The Carb Shop', they are quadrajet specialists located in So Cal. They can re-bush your control rods so you wont have vacume leaks. Trust me on this one. http://www.thecarbshop.com/

Re: Q-Jet I.D. help
Thanks. I searched the number in the photo without joy. Would the reman carbs get restamped with an unusual number? I prefer to rebuild it myself for the experience. Suppose I'll send 5/6 pics to Mr. Ruggles and order the kit he suggests.

Re: Q-Jet I.D. help
That there is the best thing you can do, but Cliff is going to tell you same thing I am telling you now- even if the number is somehow transferred from the rebuilder's terminology, you may still have the wrong metering rods and jets, and who knows what else that may have been modified.
