1953 Chevy 3100 3/4 ton

Hey this is my first Chevy build and don't really know a whole lot about these trucks. Found a good one for really cheap and am looking into restoring it as a nice around town pickup for a family member. 350 would be a nice upgrade. I believe it's a long bed looking at paint midnight blue with wood floor.. worked on a 57 Chevy 210 once hopefully not a lot different. Question is what can u tell about the trucks.

Re: 1953 Chevy 3100 3/4 ton

OK I'll bite, 3100 is a 1/2 ton model. 3600 is the 3/4 ton and I believe 3800 is the 1 ton. First question, 6 lug or 8 lug wheels? 6 lug=1/2 ton. 8 lug=3/4 and up until you get to the big stuff (1 1/2 ton and larger) which is 5/10 lug split. Yes, it will be very different then a 57 Chevy car. To name a few items: 6 volt, solid front axle, never a factory V-8 or power steering for the AD model. Visit a few of the build threads to get an idea of what's ahead.
Good luck,
Rob

Yea the axles are non original they are just 3/4 axles. And no engine or tranny. But the truck has been sanded down. But only cost me 500$ soon I still think I got a lot for a gain
