having trouble finding a K series truck ( 63 - 66 )
its been a challenge lately finding this model type .... and everything I see at what is for sale is 67 - to present swb, a blazer, or something far fetched
the question(s) would be with the current owner(s), what would be the best method in locating one ( something original and not someone else's truck ) or how did you find the one that you currently own .. ?? I am looking for a lwb w/ a small window ( non running/ running ) ...

Re: having trouble finding a K series truck ( 63 - 66 )
Go out driving alot. Look far off the road. For a hidden gem. That's how I found my c20. finding my 65 k20 was cake. It found me. Craigslist can work wonders every now and again. I didn't pay for anything on my k20. Just traded him a bike. but if you see a truck and it's a good price don't think on it. Go with your gut feeling if you can afford to. Good luck.

Re: having trouble finding a K series truck ( 63 - 66 )
Well, your off to a good start by starting here on this forum. Just be patient and keep searching craigslist and even a few facebook group pages. Also, if your a member of a truck club can lead to some very good deals. Keep in mind that the production numbers were relatively low for factory 4x4's and they were used hard for the most. So, be patient, but don't quit looking either.
Also, be sure to keep a look out for small town auctions (fire/rescue trucks) as well. Some very nice low mileage trucks have been found at this way. Check these out in the mean time. http://www.classiccarliquidators.com...01CJ1180A/1975 And: http://www.classiccarliquidators.com...45J154797/1655 Also, https://www.facebook.com/groups/388285118009662/

Then take 63 off your list because it's basically a 62.

Re: having trouble finding a K series truck ( 63 - 66 )
That 63 is a road trip to me.
Promote your trip on this site including possible routing. Wait to see how many members will help you out in case of repairs. Create a list of members who would like to sign the truck with a Big Sharpie enroute. Pack a GoPro Hero to record the trip and members trucks that will tag for a few miles. Create a YouTube account just for this trip. Create a thread that you promise to fill everyone in on, everyday, with all the details, till you get home. Ask the members to give you a heads up on scrapyards ( or their backyards ) to go and visit even if their not as the crow flies. Take requests for parts to ship, USPS from your discoveries to help out on the fuel costs. Hell since your getting 10MPG, you might as well U-Haul trailer something else at the same time to sell off once you get home. Take your kid along for the " Best Road Trip, EVER! " So why not Fly into Eugene get the owner to pick you up.

Re: having trouble finding a K series truck ( 63 - 66 )
Yea. It's a guy I know in the town I work in. He mentioned 2 or 3 k. All original running gear. Same setup as my k20 just with a 230 or 250. Inline 6 and a long bed stepper. He claims it runs. And I looked it over its all the real deal for a 65. Little sun baked haha. Not to much. But would need some love. I'll stop by his place tomorrow and see if he's around

Re: having trouble finding a K series truck ( 63 - 66 )
Long bed? Small rear window? Just my luck, I want a square body so bad I can taste it. Make sure you drive one of these before you commit. I've had two they're kinda like driving a 50's model farm tractor down the road at 55 MPH
