73-87 Tach/fuel gauge combo
I've been looking for a tach in the 7-8K rmp range and found these. I like the idea of keeping the stock look. Has anyone used one of these tach/fuel gauges in their swap? Does the LS pcm put out the correct singnal?

The tach will work, but you will need to change the tach resolution in the tune from 6 to 3 to double the output since LS engines put out a 4cyl tach signal.

Re: 73-87 Tach/fuel gauge combo
I have been using one for a while now . Works perfect . There is a couple threads on the install as well from a while back. Do a search and you should be able to find them . If I remember correctly you have to put a up resister on the tack wire to get it to power the tack . The pcm does not have enough power to drive the tack on it own . You will find this info in the the past threads as well . Ls1nova is correct . You will have to change the tach signal as well in the pcm .
Heres a picture of mine . |
