95 Roadmaster 4L60E matted to 07 L33 5.3

Found a L33 5.3 for my 51 truck build. I have a complete and running 1995 Buick Roadmaster with an LT1 for parts. My original plan was to use the LT1 for my build but I think I want to go LS.

Can I use the Buick trans with the L33?

What other things should I get from the wrecker yard to use the L33?

Not easily. The 4L60E behind the LT1 has the old-style bellhousing on it. Try and grab the trans that goes with the LS.

Thanks Jay. Just the trans or anything else? The trans is from an 2wd iron block 5.3. Not the L33 engine.

Only bell housing difference is you have to leave the bolt out at the 1 o'clock position.

You will need to get correct flywheel and program PCM for non-pwm operation.

It will bolt right up same as a th350 and 400.

LT1 4L60E's in '95 have a PWM TCC solenoid, They also have a PWM 3-2 shift solenoid vs a "on/off" 3-2 on '96 & up models.

'95 is the ONLY year to use this arrangement, And ONLY in LT1 cars. '95 trucks were still Non-PWM.

I strongly advise against using a '95 PWM 4L60E behind any LS engine.

Thanks for the info guy's. So is there any particular year etc 2wd tranny I should be looking for? What other parts should I get with it? The L33 5.3 is out of a 2006 4wd truck.

Use the correct flex plate for your engine. You can use 1999-up 4L60e with ease.

The older 60e can be used but I don't recommend it because of all the above mentioned issues.
