well. what do you think? "Bed Build"

I worked all week and weekend on the "BED BUILD".
All the oak boards were ......
1) Sanded
2) Dyed 1-coat
3) Stained 2 coats
4) Sanded again
5) Painted satin black 4 coats

Painted Black to simulate "factory" or as close as I could get it. All holes lined up perfectly! And the stainless hardware kit was great! It does show all the dust / dirt and fingerprints.... but im pretty happy with the whole kit from "Bed Wood" and the ease of instulation as well.
don't hold back. after all I did ask for your opinion!
thx,dave

Re: well. what do you think? "Bed Build"

Looks awesome! I only hope my bed comes out looking that good by the time I'm done.

I'm really debating how I want to do the bed, as I want it to be nice, but also don't want to cringe at the idea of loading an appliance up in it.

Will this be a cruise/show only truck, or do you plan on hauling things?

That is really spectacular! Nice and neat without being overly flashy. I like it a lot.

Dave boy that looks great. The bad part is keeping the dust off. Your truck is coming right along. It's looking soo good it will be hard to drive it and get dirty. Can't wait to see it when finished.

I will haul some things.. like a 68 Honda mini trail. ice chest, ect
not any heavy hauling. but that's why I did the dye and paint, so I could repaint every few years. thx dave

Re: well. what do you think? "Bed Build"

Looks great! Nice job. What was behind your decision to leave all the fasteners bright? Only asking because this "variation" from factory is noticeable even from a distance. I do know that paint chipping off all those bolts heads is hard to avoid.
