Re: Amazing what people want for these trucks

The buy it now is laughable. Theres not enough truck for that. It's probably a joke. The REAL price is in the reserve, which could still be realistic. Maybe not. But yes, i believe the more money than brains applies quite often and affects asking prices.

This. It never hurts to ask, though... he only needs to find one buyer willing to pay. If he can't find that one guy, he'll either lower his price, or keep his truck. Doesn't ruffle my feathers either way.

Re: Amazing what people want for these trucks

I've seen some of the most ridiculous prices for these trucks at the Goodguys show this past weekend. 43k was on one window, and it had a slightly better Macao paint job, horrible panel gaps, and a worn original interior.

I wasn't sure if he was joking or not but judging by the amount of people smiling and laughing while walking away from it, he might have a job as a comedian.

A bit steep for a long bed. The 8 track will make up for it though.

Re: Amazing what people want for these trucks

Not so sure I believe the 048,000 miles claim, with all those mini dings and small modifications.
Bed wood looks rotten.
L6 250/SM465. I wonder who would order armrests as options and forget to upgrade to 292 and WestCoast Jrs?
Two fuel filters -- one pre-pump, one pre-carb = rusty tank.
Non-factory choke cable knob in cigar lighter position. Heater controls rebuilt and pop-riveted back in position. [Not something that goes bad before 48 K usually.] Orange/Fawn interior is original. Seat is most likely gray Fawn vinyl under that Apache blanket.
Other than that, it's so close to my '68 C/10 [115" wheelbase] Stepside in 516 Orange from Fremont that I'd be tempted to grab it if it were affordable. My VIN is about 30,000 earlier. My odometer is at 342,000, but you can only read the 42,000 part.
The family resemblance is uncanny.

Re: Amazing what people want for these trucks

what do you think a collector would price this truck at,now I am really going to piss someone off I have a lot of cars/trucks,chevys/fords/ihc/few dodges
I have a 59 f100 been in the family since new all original, its worth $32,000
I have a 59 f100 sub frame with a 429/c6 frame cut short,it.s only worth $9000
its all about original and how rare,72 Plymouth cricket cant even get a price for it its,so rare
68 chevy van option v8 283 rare
64 international 3/4 pickup 14,000 original miles, whats rare it has a option power steering,
maybe this truck is worth it I don't no without looking at it ,but im sure a collector has already contacted the seller for info on it,8ft stepside with low miles original running gear theres a lot to work with there, heck it might have been the first one made, who no s,,but I guess I am a old school original guy,

First off, not pissed or ruffled. Sounds as though you have a nice collection. I see the point your trying to make as an original rare truck could be worth some money. Not even rare, just a nice original.

But to me, this one dont fit the bill. Of course we still don't know the real asking price. IMO, i see nothing rare about it. And to your point a person would have to look at it, i agree because the seller has done a piss poor job advertising it to fetch anything substantial. To me with whats presented, it's just a neat little "well used" but well kept not rare truck that needs some work with a cobbled front bumper with unknown rust that says "primarily" in front fenders. Who knows... Vague pics. What else..? Im at $8500 tops

I was thinking it might be located in Colorado, but it's in CA... where I also believe the stuff that makes you believe your long bed straight six step side is worth that is legal...

Maybe his wife is making him sell it... I promise I'm trying honey! Nobody is bidding!
