Newer dash pad in older truck

Will the 81-87 flat dash pads work in older 73-80 trucks? Are there any modifications to be done? I have a 75 Jimmy and am thinking of changing these out if its not a big pain. Just from looking the older style seems to have a lot more slope to it and I am not sure it would work properly.

I had a pad identical to the one I gave you in my 75 Blazer. It fit fine, and I used the 75 dash plate. I thought it looked really nice.

nah, the seats are still sitting beside the truck. I worked on it a little last Sunday, but it has been too hot in my garage. I set the door panels and dash pad on, though. They look great on the yellow.

If you change over to a 81+ pad, the older door panels you have will no longer match and might look goofy next to each other.

Jeff at the present time I do not have any door panels at all lol. In fact there is basically nothing inside the truck other than the seat. I will be getting my new floor pans soon and have a friend weld them in, then I can start back with paint and such. I had a complete interior in it and decided to go in and redo things. Sold my leather seat and covered dash pad and door panels to Jon. I am thinking of going back with a gray interior this tiime. Still not sure at this time.
