66 and 2 1/2 drop power discs....what else do I need?
I am thinking of purchasing a 2 1/2" drop disc brake kit for my stock 66 C10. I like the lower look but wondering what else I will need to pull this off?
The kit comes with everything, discs, calipers, hoses, 2 1/2" drop spindles, power booster with master and a proportioning valve. What else will I need? Front springs? Front shocks? Then on the back, since I want an even or level truck, rear drop springs, shocks? What else? Thank you. Dan |

What exactly you will need will depend on how low you plan to go in the front. To get the back level may also require a bolt in notch and the adjustable track bar to the above list. I prefer the longer track bars for more than a couple inches of drop. Add brake lines to your list.

Re: 66 and 2 1/2 drop power discs....what else do I need?
Thank you. I think the 2 1/2" in the front will be my final height, at least in the front, and then I want to level the truck in the rear from there. I'm just not sure what all I will need cuz I'm sure the rear will need to drop about 4-5" to be level.

Re: 66 and 2 1/2 drop power discs....what else do I need?
If you are only using the spindles to drop it in the front you should not need new shocks or coils up front or shock relocators. You might want to get new shock and springs for ride quality sake if you are still running the originals. In the rear if you go with a 5 inch drop you should not need to notch the frame but you will need shock relocaters and a adjustable track bar and new shocks. I would get 2 inch blocks and 3 inch drop coils for the rear. I don't know what comes with the kit you are getting but you will need a new power booster bracket.

Re: 66 and 2 1/2 drop power discs....what else do I need?
I also did a kit. 2" drop spindles on the front. Found out PO had cut the coils. Updated the front springs (with 2" drop springs) and shocks for a world of difference in handling and ride. So I second what forestb said about the fronts. I will be putting in a sway bar soon. Brake lines are definitely needed. Depending on original springs, a lower profile bump stop may be good (or just remove them).
