cab cart help

morning guys. im tearing down my 51 3100 for a s10 frame swap and full air ride. my cab is in need of some serious metal repair some im gonna tackle that bear first before I even start on the air ride side of the build. ive seen on here a couple of well built cab carts and I believe I saw some blue prints for one. just wondering if anyone had the lay out or could steer me in the direction of where I could find some thanks in advance yall have a good one

Ad-engineering is closed and the "miscellanceous STUFF" was not listed on their site. I googled 47-55.1 cab dolly and found a link.

Also, I built a stand for my cab.







Some 2x4's and four wheels from HF. I think I used the dimensions from the AD dolly in the link above. May be kinda overkill but it worked for my neighbor's '57 cab and will be under my cab pretty soon. Clay

what ever you do(unless you have a ceiling hoist) make it tall enough off the floor to get your engine hoist underneith it.

I think many of us have learned the "don't make it that low" thing on things like this that you may need to get the frame work of an engine hoist under later.

As you build it strong enough and safe enough so it has no chance of collapsing on you exactly how you build it is up to you and your budget. The bigger casters that Clay54 showed on his have the added advantage of easier moving the cart around with or without the cab on it and we all have times when we need to roll the cab and cart outside to either clean the shop, do something outside that we don't want to do in the garage or just stand back and see how it looks out in the open.

If you still have the old frame then use that. cut off the front and back.
Here is what we did.

we put hinges on the sides front and back so it would tilt
you just put a pin in what ever hinge you want to tilt.

Mine, solid core flat door with heavy caster for bottom. 2x4 with plywood sheathing frame on sides to fit under the step brace. 2x6 cross brace across one end. 12" high so I could get under the cab when on the cart. Mine was used in the garage on concrete so 4" hard rubber casters worked.

I'm Clay's neighbor.
I borrowed his fancy cart for my '57 cab. Sure worked great.



Btw, it's also handy to have a table to roll the cab onto so you can blast and paint the underside:



It's then really easy to roll it back onto the cart for transporting it back to the shop.
