Windshield thickness

I just picked up a new windshield for my 79 c10. Do you guys know what the thickness is? I have another windshield same size but thicker. Not sure what year it is

Thoughts Does the thickness even matter?

Re: Windshield thickness

The old windshield I have is 0.2514" thick the new windshield is 0.1920". A difference of 0.0594". Does not seem like a lot. But is that enough to cause issues? I bought my weather striping from classic auto parts. That and the windshield are listed for 73-87. So it's not like I could get a different set up. Should I be concerned or am I over looking this?

Thanks
Chris

Re: Windshield thickness

I would try installing it see if everything fits with out any leaks,Some will use a little m3 auto bedding and glazing around the body side to make sure the gasket/weather striping seals fully.

Re: Windshield thickness

I have already installed the trim on the truck. Should I remove it to add sealant? What about around the glass? Should I put any sealant there?

What about between the gasket and the glass?

Re: Windshield thickness

If you have new gaskets, it shouldn't be a problem, install it the way the factory did and sleep well at night.

Re: Windshield thickness

I talked to precision and they told me what types of adhesive to use and all is good. Installed last week and went well
