High hump vs low hump

Been getting my cab stripped down and the hump just caught my eye. 62 low hump. I'm going to be running a factory bell housing with a Saginaw car 4 speed. Just a guess rite now, but do I need a high hump or will it sit far enough forward or back that the low hump works?

Low hump worked with my Muncie M21. Not a lot of clearance but no interference.

Thank you sir. The shifter is what had me worried. I think they mount in the same location on Muncie and sag. Was worried the shifter would come up in the transition from low to floor.

It does exactly that. I had to cut a hole vertically where the hump meets the floor, just in front of the bench seat.

In my opinion a low hump floor would be preferable with a car 4 speed trans and a standard car shifter. With a high hump you can get different shifter rods and the riser bracket that raises the shifter up. Otherwise with a high hump and a standard car shifter, the hole in the floor needs to be fairly large to acomodate the swing of the shifter.

Greg, would you be able to get me any measurements on hole location. My cab is off the frame and I will be putting motor and trans in frame before cab goes on . My shifter is bolted to the trans without the lever on it. I hate to take it apart and don't want it in the way of sitting the cab down. Any measurements appreciated.

I cant give you a measurement but here is a picture that shows the MY6 transmission and shifter currently in my truck. You can see the hole behind the current shifter position where the M21 shifter passed through the floor. There was about 2" of the low hump that was cut out that corresponds with the hole you can see in the picture. For reference - the rear of the current shifter in the picture is against the vertical part of the low hump panel.
