ls newbie shoot me straight. 68c10
Looking to swap a 5.3 in my 68c10.
What yr do I need to look for and what do I need to avoid? Max milage for used ls? Fair price for engine, trans, computer? I like the sound of a healthy ol sbc what cam would you suggest to get a very nice sound? Willing to sacrifice alittle power for sound |

The max mileage is a trick question depending on how it was treated. I've rebuilt some trucks that were babied and had 225 or so and they ran almost good as new. If you get one [an older one] a 03 or 04 with bigger miles change out the intake manifold as they tend to have a vacuum leak after they age.
