Question 65 292 Engine color

There are a ton of threads about engine color but none of them show red. This appears to be, via serial # and overall look, the original 292 to my 65 C10 but it's red. Repainted or original?

Re: 65 292 Engine color

Probably re-painted at some point. Original color would have been that bright detroit diesel green.

Re: 65 292 Engine color

It should be the greenish color. I still remember my Grandpa's '64 292 was this color. I have 2 64s w/ 292s in them. Here is the 292 I am putting together for my '64 short step project. It is Detroit Diesel green.
