Who used dirty dingo sliders

With the dirty dingo sliders do use the engine stands you already have and use same style motor mounts

I used them on my swap. They take the place of the engine side brackets on the original small block. They mate up to the stock stands and motor mounts on the frame. I went with poly mounts as the aftermarket replacements in rubber are junk and will tear out shortly. I don't want to have to replace them again later.

I used them also. You can use your same mounts and stands, but I upgraded to the poly mounts too.

Just remember the Dirt Dingo mounts will raise your engine 1/2".

So would the hummer or hot rod oil pan work well with these mounts ? I hope they dont mess up my pdriveline angles.

I used the GM "hot rod" oil pan on my '51 and it fits good, I'm not sure on a 72 though. Also you should be able to correct you driveline angle at the transmission crossmember.

I used the Dirty Dingo sliders on my '85 Suburban and they worked really well. I'm running the GM "hot rod" oil pan and have no clearance issues.

I am out of room for lifting because of the gearvendors Od. Its going to hit the floor if I lift it up any higher


Adam. Does the pan sit above the bottom of the front crossmember ?

I used DD sliders on 76. It sits right were it should. I used factory 76 motor mounts. I have a 4.8l with a truck oil pan that sits 1.75" below the cross member. I am most likely going with the cts-v oil pan as it appears to be just a little over 2" shallower than the truck oil pan.

It sits just a hair below the front crossmember. I wanted it up a little higher ideally but I know the lower control arms will hit the ground before the front crossmember will so I figure I'll be ok. That and I'm on air so I can always lift it if i'm on rough roads.

Here are the dirtydingo engine mounts on Zoomad75’s K5 with a 5.3L. Hard to see but you get the idea....they did fit nicely. I found it easier to leave off the exhaust manifolds so the mounts could be left loose in order to slide them around for adjustment. Once the engine was mated to the transmission and sat down on the engine mounts I tightened up the DD mounts to the engine. Pretty nice pieces.

I haven’t seen it mentioned here yet but on a 67-72 the frame engine tower brackets would need to be changed to the 73-87 design in order to use the clamshell engine mounts.
