Slip on vs. oem cab supports

What is the difference between the slip on and oem style cab floor supports? I need to replace 2 or maybe all 4 and am wondering which is a better choice and why. Im assuming they weld in regardless of which style used.
Thanks for the help. Im a couple of months out from starting the "refresh" of my 66 longbed and am starting my research and stockpiling of parts.

With the OE type supports, you cut out the old ones before installing the new ones.

The slip on ones are made slightly oversize so they can "slip on" over the existing supports. That eliminates the work involved with cutting out the old supports. But they're generally not a good long term solution because they tend to trap dirt, moisture, etc. between the layers and rust through again.
