MSD Transmission control
Anyone familiar with the MSD box to control a 4l60E?
I have it hooked up and goes down the road but the shifting is very soft. Hoping someone could point me in the direction of setting for the Firmness, Converter and such. |

It is...but the instruction for install are great and easy to understand.
Advanced programing is very vague and looking for some help on how to stiffen shift points, and converter settings. I am a novice on automatic transmissions. I can take them out and put them in, I understand in theory how they work but much past that I am lost. I don't want to burn up what I have. It drives but is very soft on shifting |

What rear gear are you running? 2.73-3.07, will shift softer, than a 3.73 or 4.10. Cline, can tell more about the trans/ shift issues. He is the trans guru here Longhorn

I have a 3.73 4L60E with a stock converter.
Motor is stock with a cam that according to Comp is a good street cam nothing to wild. Thanks for the input I will look up cline |

Increasing the line pressure will firm up the shifts.

Yes just don't know where to set . Here is what it says but again I am a tranny novice.
SHIFT MULTIPLIER: Selection menu for scaling automatic upshift / downshift speeds (MPH). The multiplier range is 0.75 to 1.50 in 0.01 increments. Increasing the SHIFT MULTIPLIER above the default value (1.00) raises the upshift and downshift speed for a given TPS value. Decreasing the SHIFT MULTIPLIER below the default value (1.00) lowers the upshift and downshift speed for a given TPS value (Figure 9). TCC MULTIPLIER: Selection menu for scaling Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) lock and unlock speeds (MPH). The multiplier range is 0.75 to 1.50 in 0.01 increments. Increasing the TCC MULTIPLIER above the default value (1.00) raises the lock and unlock speed for a given TPS value. Decreasing the TCC MULTIPLIER below the default value (1.00) lowers the lock and unlock speed for a given TPS value (Figure 9). You are right, it is adjustable!
Take one step at a time and see if you can feel the changes, but use more than .01 maybe .25 ...... just say'n!!
