Returnless fuel sender/level sensor/regulator; use stock?
I'm looking into fuel delivery and it seems like the simplest thing to do would be to use the stock pump/regulator/filter/sender unit. It's got one fuel line and two emissions lines, and I assume one would be a vent and the other blocked off. Here's the one I'm looking at:
Amazon.com: ACDelco MU1657 GM Original Equipment... Has anyone tried running these kinds of units? I'm wondering what it would take to mount these on a tank, I'm looking into something like a blazer tank or a mid-fifties tank like this one: http://www.tanksinc.com/index.cfm/pa...rod/prd114.htm

All of the LS fuel systems have a fuel return into the tank.

You would need a fuel pump adapter kit..

Yes I guess this one does also... but the return is in the tank. In fact, flex fuel pumps have only two lines -- one fuel line and one emissions line so I'm thinking that would be more convenient to use. I don't know about the wiring though, or how they are controlled; I read 62psi on my flex fuel 2005 suburban so it seems that the pressure is in the right range at least.

Found this adapter ring, looks like it will work. I'm not convinced about the utility of this though, since I have no idea what the ohm range of the sender is, and I don't know the flow rate of the stock pumps. I'm sure it would be fine for stock engines though, and you can always replace the in-unit pump with a walbro or whatever.
