1969 Motor Trend Blazer Article

Found an April, 1969, issue of Motor Trend magazine over at my neighbor's antique shop. He always has lots of knickknacks and cool things to look through, I've bought quite a few tools from him. I don't own a Blazer (K10 instead), but I spied this stack of '60s car magazines and thought, "If I see a Chevy truck on the cover I'm going to buy it!" Lo and behold, I did. And so I did.

Pretty fun stuff. My favorite part is the tagline on the article: "Ol' Number One is now involved, so there must be something to this four-wheel-drive, off-the-road epidemic." Huh. Ya think?

As an aside, I bet that upper left-hand corner photo is from Colorado Springs. Or, at least, it looks like it to me - I lived there for several years. Wonder where they're driving that thing?

Those are without a doubt the Sandia Mts over ABQ in the top pic! Crazy. I'll have to track down a copy.

Be cool to have a pic of your blaze in the same spot . Hang it next to the mag pic.

Re: 1969 Motor Trend Blazer Article

Oh, the cover page color photo? Awesome. I didn't even think of that, although I should have! I was thinking CoSprings for the upper left B&W photo on the article pages, that sure looks like Pikes, and the boulder has the PP Granite look to it...

Re: 1969 Motor Trend Blazer Article

I wonder how the bench seat mounts? I looks like it's on top of the bed floor, instead of the front half of the floor that is lower? Unless 69's are different?

Re: 1969 Motor Trend Blazer Article

Since that is likely a preproduction developement vehicle seat mounting is all speculative. Often they differ considerably from production release vehicles.
That is the only copy/size/resolution of that image I have. If you thirst for more detail (if there is any) I suggest trying to run down a copy of the yearbook.

That makes sense, pretty wacky stuff. I'll start browsing through that, good reading material when the wife starts nagging me. Haha
