What do you all think of this..
I have no affiliation with this truck.
I saw the ad, and it looks really really good. It's hard for me to tell, but it doesn't look "restored" underneath like my truck does. It could be original, but again I can't tell. I noticed the chalk marks and factory exhaust tip right off the bat. http://m.kijiji.ca/classic-cars/leth...=1462490861170 |

Re: What do you all think of this..
To me that looks to be a genuine survivor. It's always heartwarming and heart breaking to see these trucks from time to time. Heartwarming because they ARE out there just waiting for the right person to really give them some love and heart breaking because I am never the person who is in time or has the money to take advantage of one of these jewels coming up for sale.
But, my truck will look this good soon .... I hope. |

Well it is very nice. Not $29K nice in my opinion. Not sure one with 5 miles on it would be a $29k truck. But - as time goes by... they become more and more scarce. Real nice - does appear all original/unrestored.

Not 29K, even if it was a short bed. It is nice though.

It's pretty sweet but I could have a lot more fun with a vette or an awesome Chevy 2

Nice truck - but for that price, and the age, fluids need to be flushed and rubber parts likely need changing. Not just hoses, but brake lines, seals, and so on! Still cool to see a survivor though!

Re: What do you all think of this..
Yeah I don't see it pulling more than $20,000. I do love the look of it though, the blue and white with the blue interior and the rally wheels. Clearance lights are awesome as well. Up here it's pretty tough to find an early 2000's truck with no rust. I've seen a couple nice squares in my area sell for over $10,000 but I put emphasis on "a couple" haha. 85% of them in Southern Alberta are jacked up mid trucks or rusty work trucks.

Re: What do you all think of this..
We talked about this on the other thread: "73-75 Crew Cab Values." There is no rhyme or reason to pricing once these trucks (actually ANY vehicle) become old enough that they are no longer on the blue books. The seller is just fishing. There is likely SOME one in the world that would pay his price and so, the seller is convinced that THAT person is just a short distance away. Let the the truck sit for a while, like a couple of years, and the seller will likely begin to realize that, yes, he's got a great truck but he needs to ask a more realistic price if he's actually going to sell it.
Does anyone here watch Antiques Road Show on PBS? There are a lot of times when the experts will price some rare and desirable item beyond what the owner expected and that's always fun. But, more often than not, most folks are disappointed when they find that their so called "treasure" is not worth anywhere near what they hoped. |
