sm465 Dust Cover
I am having a hard time finding a new dust cover for my sm465. Does anyone know who stocks these? I looked on Ebay and online stores like summit.
Thanks |

Re: sm465 Dust Cover
These are very very difficult to find. I looked for weeks. The only place I ever found one was at classic industries. Their product number is G3292. I ordered one and it fit perfect.

Re: sm465 Dust Cover
$16? That's awesome. Why isn't this on the forum? Was it a direct fit?

Re: sm465 Dust Cover
The dust cover on my SM465 consists of two stamped metal pieces. One is the bowl shaped piece that goes under the flywheel. The other is a long flat rectangle with a hole in it for the starter motor. This one closes up the front of the flywheel.

Re: sm465 Dust Cover
The bowl shaped one that I mentioned is a direct fit. It was seriously that cheap. It was awesome. The long rectangle shaped piece is also needed but its relatively easy to find. I have a 70 and a 71 both with sm465's and I looked forever for the the bowl shaped cover and was thankful to finally find them.

Re: sm465 Dust Cover
They are on back order from classic industries. I called and they said 30 days. But I'm going to wait a little while to make sure first. I wonder if anyone else carries this part?

Re: sm465 Dust Cover
I am not aware of anywhere else that sells them. You would definitely think there would be. I have been told that you can still buy them from a Chevy dealer but that's it. None of the online stores such as summit carry the one for a sm465.

Re: sm465 Dust Cover
Yeah. I would like to know who the vendor was. She said they buy them from a vendor when they are available. But you would think he would sell to more than 1 store.
