Need advice for 700R4 swap to 4L65E

Hey y'all,

A year ago, I swapped my LS6 BBC for a 5.3L LM7. I retained my Stage III Bowtie Overdrive 700R4 and mated it to the new LM7.

Well, I am about to replace the 700R4 with the 2002 model 4L65E. Fortunately, the harness I have also has the transmission connector. But, I would like to know how the manual shift lever connects, as well as what connects to the driver's side electronic box bolted to the transmission? Is this the neutral safety switch/brake signal to unlock the TC? If so, which connector to buy or how to hook it up.

Are the transmissions different lengths? Will I need to alter the driveshaft? Is the 4L65E a 30 spline?

Thanks for your help.

Best to all!

Re: Need advice for 700R4 swap to 4L65E

I've not changed from a 700r4 but when I done my swap it had a th350 and my yoke and all worked perfect. I had to move my trans crossmember back a few inches. My harness didn't use neutral safety switch. Just main round plug and the speed sensor. My harness from PSI also included everything to hook up torque converter so I'm unsure of that. And I was also able to reuse my trans column linkage but I've since replaced with lokar linkage made for trans. My old linkage didn't have enough adjustment to use my low gears.
