Front tow hook mount direction (69-72 style) ??

OK, my Blazer never had front tow hooks but I'm adding them. I have the 69-72 style where the ends of the left and right side curl in opposed directions.
Question is, which is left and which is right? Which way do they curl when mounted? A picture may be even better if you have it.
Thanks for the help.

Sorry Jeff no pic but the hooks open to the rear of the vehicle (so as tow chain/strap doesn't detach when under tension).

Coming home pics look great btw!!

Pete. I didn't describe very well. I mean which way does the curl of the end go. Towards the outside of the truck or the inside towards each other.
You know I think I better get mine out tomorrow and hold them up against the frame holes. Maybe they can only go on one way.

Yes. Was great to get it back home for sure. Thanks!!‎

I have the curled end pointing to the outside of my truck. If you have them point to the inside, there is very little clearance between the frame and the tip of the hook.

Good question - I'm really not sure and can't reliably recall the orientation of the set on my old K10. Only have 72 specific examples now.

Curious about this as well. I have installed four sets on my outfits. Pointed the tips to the outside on all of them.

My highlander point outside, my last 72 had hooks pointing the same direction, driver side inside, pass side outside

I assume that your 72 had the extreme bend hooks?

Re: Front tow hook mount direction (69-72 style) ??

Thanks guys for the pictures and input. I didn't install but I held them up to the frame this weekend. It does make the most sense for the tips pointing outboard as in the picture 'bluek5' posted.

Jeff,
Does your frame have holes? If you need measurements. I think I can find a post a link to a good thread on locating them.

Re: Front tow hook mount direction (69-72 style) ??

Thanks Paul. No I have the holes. It all makes sense once I dug them out and held them in position. I had just never seen an actual set mounted before so the picture was helpful.
