Trunion question
I have a 76 1500 that has an oblong trunnion on one side. Is this correct? I want to order new trunnions for my truck b/c my tailgate rattles and jumps around and is pretty load. What trunnions should I get?

Re: Trunion question
That is correct, it's a quick release tailgate...make sure it is on the matching quick release side if the tailgate.

Re: Trunion question
I took the tailgate off and drove around and 99% of the noise is gone. I was gonna order urethane trunnions from lmc but the ones they have are round. Before I remove the tailgate I lifted both sides and the quick removal side jumps up quite a bit. Any one have a solution for this?
I've looked around with search function and saw that one member suggested wrapping the trunnions with electrical tape. Would tightening up the lock catches make any difference?
