Overdrive Kickdown Switch Mounting
Does anyone have some good pictures of the way the kickdown switch mounts under the dash on the gas pedal for a 1966 Chevrolet C10 3-speed overdrive?
Thanks in advance Rope |

I believe the kickdown switch was on the carburetor, not under the gas pedal. The original manuals are located here if you would like to find a picture. http://devestechnet.com/Home/HowTo Regards, Steve New Orleans |

Depends on the transmission. What model and year?

So I would like to try and mount it under the dash instead of the engine compartment. "64c10HotRodder, Depends on the transmission. What model and year?" The transmission is the M319. |

No, Gary Bernard of AAAA Transmission Inc in Fort Worth is building it for me and I know it has the 4-bolt pattern on the side shift cover. Should be similar to this transmission.

Re: Overdrive Kickdown Switch Mounting
From how it seems these have both electric soleniod for kickdown and a cable. Stock the cable was on the bottom of the dasth T handle type knob. you could probably run a switch for the electronic solenoid. Other wise i dont know much about how the 2 correlate with each other. Im sure you could find it online somewhere.

Re: Overdrive Kickdown Switch Mounting
The cable is Overdrive lockout when pulled.... You NEVER pull the cable when in OD ... You pull the cable to park the truck OR on most you can park it in reverse and it wont roll away .... With cable in and in any forward gear if pointed down hill when parked it will just roll away like it is in neutral ... Kick down works just like "passing gear" in an automatic trans
