As you can tell I am doing a complete restro. I am currently working on my front end and I am almost ready to put in the new bushings and get that all together and then my 3/4 drop will be complete. The next thing will be to intstall a new 350 engine and 700r4 tran. The body is all done except the doors. I have shaved everything possible except for the taillights. Bed pockets, gas tank door, drip rails, door handles, front marker lights all gone. That is it for now.

The stock color is carmine red. I am for sure going to paint it red but I might go with something a little brighter than stock. I want to drive it first in the black primer and red rally wheels. I like that on the street rods so I thought I would drive it like that until I have the money to get it painted. I am not for sure about wheels. I like the american racing hopster. The largest you can get is 17's. I am thinking that would give it a good stance with the drop that I am doing. I didn't mention anything about the interior because I don't have any good ideas yet and it will be a while before I am going to do that. What did you do to your interior? By the way I really like your truck. I wish I had the money to go with the bags. Maybe some day.

Yeah, I saw the carmine red in your pics. It's a nice red, but not the brightest. One of the most common reds used today is a Viper red. It's a really bright red that looks good on just about anything.
The Hopster is a good looking wheel. It hasn't been played as hard as the Torque Thrust. You may want to consider something in a 20 though. The wheels aren't that much more, and Goodyear makes a very reasonable 20" tire that will fill your fenders up nice. Yeah, it will kill the budget a bit more, but you will probably be glad you did it in the long run. In the meantime red ralley's and chrome rings will look cool against the black primer. The interior on my 77 is stock. It was restored to original, and the only thing I changed was the steering wheel. I happen to have a Vin-Tec wheel on my Blazer, so I swapped it out. Thanks for the compliment. Stay focused with your plan, and it will come together... |

Looks damn good so far!
I too like the street rod type look. On my 77 Blazer, I am going to get some Corvette style rally wheels, powdercoat them red, police car type hubcaps, and narrow trim rings...all on big n littles. For your interior, I would run a stock bench seat...at least until you put the larger diameter wheels on and paint...but for your black primer look, I would keep it retro so it all matches. Keep us posted! -Jeff |

N2TRUX-I would like to have 20's but I don't know if I am going to be sitting low enough to have it look right. I also can't find many different styles of big wheels. What brands should I look at?
bigblock73-I have seen your pics of the blazer and that was a really nice find. I think the red wheels will look awesome. Well I am going to do some sanding!!

I am planning on some 18/20" Hopsters, you only have to have them custom made by American Racing. Its not too much more. The tires are the only thing that will go up in price.
It will lay out with that setup if you throw a bigass notch in back. And, trust us on this, you are gonna want ATLEAST a 4/6 setup. Then you'll want to bag.

I have thought about doing that to a Burb (not my 88) but not sure if the red will hit the wheels. May go with a black tint powdercoat look on a set of Outlaws (not II).
