Modern throttle linkage
Hey all,
I know I have seen a posting about using a early 90's Chevy pickup or suburban throttle cable system on our trucks. I have searched through the forum but have not been able to find any info on it. Does anyone have a link or info on it? Thanks much... |

http://www.persh.org/pickup/CableThrottle.htm Here it is thanks to another member here named Mark. I haven't seen him post in a while though. Hope he's doing well.

Re: Modern throttle linkage
Since finding a donor 71-72 has become increasingly difficult, does anyone know of an aftermarket solution?

Re: Modern throttle linkage
Lokar makes a pedal in both black and aluminum.

Re: Modern throttle linkage
Thanks I was just on their site and see that they also now offer a floor mount version which would be closer to our originals while having the advantage of being cable actuated. It would be interesting to see if anyone here has used one of those yet.

Re: Modern throttle linkage
Yeah, I used their setup before on another build. The biggest problem was trying to cut the braided stainless cable sheathing cleanly enough so it would fit inside their cable end fitting without it unraveling. I know there is a trick to wrapping it first, but it's still a pain. For the money I will utilize another avenue, like I am on this project.

Re: Modern throttle linkage
This is the one I was looking at possibly using, it's black:
