Quick stepside fender question
What are you putting between the fender and the bedside? Don't want to put visible fender welt...anyone try something like butyl rubber, or something like metal roofing roll tape, stick it to the fender along the bolt holes?

3M 08578 Black Strip Calk is a choice.

Re: Quick stepside fender question
Do you have to take the fenders off to use this material? I imagine it would be easier to have the fenders of and place this in the best spot and then assemble the fenders but is it impossible to tuck this in with the fenders already on?

Re: Quick stepside fender question
I used rear Fender Felt (FNDRFLT) from insanehotrods. It's a role of leather type material with a bead. Seals fender to bedside & won't allow water between the two.

Re: Quick stepside fender question
I prefer the fender welting with the bead. Bought mine from Classic Parts and painted it myself to match the truck

Re: Quick stepside fender question
You can go to a radiator shop & ask for the tank seal material they use on 18 wheeler radiators. It comes in a roll. It's rubber & cork material, is 1" wide & has a peel off backing over one sticky side. And oh yeah it's dirt cheap!
