47-54 bumper options
I was knocking around the idea of using a bumper off of a caddy or other car on the front of my 52 chevy coe build. Surely I can't be the only one who has thought about this. Anyone have a suggestion of what might look good or a picture?
This truck is being built in a bagged, hot rod style. Thnx🍺 |

Re: 47-54 bumper options
Well Your in luck my friend!
I think this is what you have in mind.. This is from my 52 (orangepeel) build it is from a 55-56 Cadi. It shows a little bit of the trimming that had to be done to fit the contours of the fenders. The last shot is with the 53 Buick headlight bezels. Mark.

Re: 47-54 bumper options
You have to work your butt off like Reaper 71 is to have it look like it wasn't just scabbed on as an afterthought. That is only the second or third one of those on and AD that I have seen that shows some real thought in putting a car bumper on it and looks decent. Most of them just don't cut it as they are just stuck on without much thought put into the details.

Re: 47-54 bumper options
I like the look of those dagmars but I'm not sure it would look right on a coe. Hard to find a decent affordable set as well.
I'll Google it and see if I can find a coe with a caddy bumper |

Re: 47-54 bumper options
Just to add a bit more to the bumper ideas,
This was a 55 car rear bumper I started with. It had 7" taken out so it would fit the rear of the truck as I wanted. Pic #2. After it was Narrowed Pic #3. Mocking up the rear pan. Pic #4. And...the finished product. It just takes time and planning but you can make them fit like they came that way from the factory. To remove the bumper you remove 2 bolts (aka pins) and it slides right off with the pan attached, with the system I built for it. Good luck. Mark.

Re: 47-54 bumper options
I am actually looking for a 55 chevy car front bumper to put on my 55 gmc I'm building right now as well.
That bumper looks good on your truck. Lots to think about |
