Gas fumes
Im just wondering if any of you guys have seen/fixed a similar issue. I have a 07 LS2 with a boyds tank. Now that the trucks parked in a enclosed garage the gas tank vent I guess is causing some serious fumes. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas? Wondering if some type of charcoal canister or something would kill the fumes.

Re: Gas fumes
Thats what the EVAP can (charcoal) is for. I just run a regular little breather, and depending on fuel type, you'll get a little smell.

Re: Gas fumes
Yea I figured that's what it was for but my truck obviously doesn't have it. Im wondering if there is something I could add to that vent line that may prevent the fumes?

Re: Gas fumes
If you really feel like you need it, go rob one off a late 90's S10. Just hooks up with 3/8 rubber hose, its about the size of a 1/2 gal of milk.

Re: Gas fumes
@ zach_carver, I know the feeling. Do as BR3W CITY has instructed and it will be ok. This has been my problem for a while (since 2007). Before I pull my truck into the garage, I let my truck sit outside for a day or two and then I push it in the garage. I try not to drive my truck into the garage, right after it has been driven. I have looked into all types of fixes. Anyway, who wants to live with Ninja Turtles or X-Men (gas fumes may mutate the kids into super heros). My wife hates my truck, parked in our driveway. She says, what will the neighbors think. I recommend putting a window in the garage if you can. It will add extra ventilation. Good Luck. LMK, what you come up with.

Re: Gas fumes
Zach , I have heard people having trouble with vapor coming from the fuel line supply . Apparently there must be some vapor thru the hose of some types of supply fuel line . There is fuel supply line that will not do this . Might want to research what fuel line you have and see if it is prone for this . I must have got lucky and got the right stuff, I don't have any smell . When I run my vent from the tank I run it up behind the engine behind the intake . I put one of those small vents like you see for the rearend in the hose . No smell for me .
Just something to think about . |

Re: Gas fumes
I put it in the end of the vent hose and mounted it high in the rear fender. It is a small charcoal filter. I may have put an transmission vent on the other end of filter to prevent dirt dobbers from stopping it up.

Re: Gas fumes
I have a fuel smell issue coming out the vented gas cap. Thinking I need to use a non vented cap and venting the tank into a s10 charcoal canister.
