My first square body. Excited to have a truck the whole family can cruise in. The flat bed did not come with the truck. Hoping to trade a guy some parts for a matching red stock bed.

The TBI 454 has a blown head gasket inbetween number four and six cylinder. Also runs very rich but I think that is because it does not have an O2 sensor hooked up. Someone put dual exhaust and didn't get it put back in. Does anyone know what color and where the wire is that should be hooked up to the O2 sensor?

That appears to be a cab/chassis truck not a dually..a reg dually bed will be to wide for the axle and tires if that's what your wanting..
Good looking truck though

The other thing is if cab & chassis is wheelbase is longer than a dually pickup

Original paint was red on the top and white on the bottom. At some point someone sprayed gray in the middle and red on the bottom .

Re: 1987 3+3 2wd

O2 sensor should have been in the back of the driver's side exhaust manifold. Single wire with a plug. Can't remember the color but I can check tonight. If you are rich you more likely have a bad fuel pressure regulator or you have leaks around the injectors. With the engine running you should have a nice, even spray out of the injectors with no drips.

Outside tire to outside tire on the opposite side is 90 inches. From outside of frame to outside of tire 29 inches. How does that compare to what it should be? Really hoping I can make a stock dually bed look good on this thing.

Wire color doesn't matter, it should be backdated to a Quadrajet. Nice looking truck!

Re: 1987 3+3 2wd

At 90" it looks like you do have a dually..it doesn't look that wide in your pics...my cab/chassis rear measures about 84"..you will be good to go if you find yourself a dually bed..

Re: 1987 3+3 2wd

The previous owner put a dodge rearend in it to improve highway gearing. I believe he said it was from a mid 90's dodge with 3.53 gears.

My favorite thing is the interior. Especially the headliner that's not sagging down.

Re: 1987 3+3 2wd

Need to find a better door trim for the drivers front and a red pull handle strap for the passenger side. Need little chrome caps for both sides

Re: 1987 3+3 2wd

Here is a picture with the down grade to hub caps. Previous owner kept the aluminum wheels and the flatbed. Made it so the price on the truck was doable with what I had to trade. On the good side, front two tires are brand new now .
