Parking brake issues
My parking brake return spring on my 62 c10 short bed keeps on slipping out of the hole. That is where the spring attaches to where the x frame comes together right under the drive shaft. does anyone have any recommendations for keeping it in place? I can get it to stay long enough to put everything back together but after about a half hour it slips out of the hole. Also does anyone have a picture? Maybe I am putting it together incorrectly. It is the type with the 2 big mettle bars that sit inside slots in the x part of the frame. It is not the type with all the cables that all the diagrams show.

Re: Parking brake issues
Sounds like you might need to take the spring and heat up the ends to re-angle the the hooks. On my 64 short bed, the spring attaches on end to the cab cable lever by transmission on the first crossmember and extends over the lip of the second crossmember and it stays there without worry. It is a good amount of tension as I have to use a large, long heavyduty flathead screwdriver and leverage into place but you have the earlier X crossmember so I am not familiar. Post a pic
