'67 LQ9 Swap Question
I'm doing an LQ9/L60E in a '67. Cab is not on the frame. I'm in the midst of boxing the frame and doing my pre-powdercoat mockup. I have a core LS and L60 combos sitting on the mounts to get my No Limit X Brace located before welding it in. Are there any issues with lateral placement of the engine in regard to the radiator or firewall? Or simply put should I place the combo to the front or rear on the adjustable mounts? I really don't want to have to put the cab on before I get this thing ready for coating if I don't have to.

Some of it is personal preference, some like them all the way back for better weight distribution and some like them in the factory location. But if it were me, id put the cab on to make sure its where you want it to be. You're doing a mock up, so mock it up. Nothing worse than getting everything welded up and powder coated only to find out it isn't in the right spot. Just my $0.02

I agree. Putting the cab on to verify fit will take way less time than redoing mounts nicely coated. And probably less frustrating. Once done, you will know for sure.

^^^^x3^^^^...I wouldn't want to be guessing and hoping it was in the right place...and then find out its wrong...with my luck it would only be a 1/4"..

Good advice I'm sure. I'm thinking now I will build the entire thing and very likely powdercoat last. Who knows what other clearance issues could come up. Thanks for the responses.

Not knocking your intentions but that's another good reason to skip on the powdercoat and just go with a good quality paint on the frame..and I'm a fan of pc..just not on a frame
