Need '55 GMC info for Father in Law please!
I need some help from you guys please. I'm in Afghanistan now, so can't really verify anything, but my father in law is rebuilding a 1955 GMC 4x4 pickup. He says it got all the original gear in it including the original 288 (289?) olds or buick made V8.
He can't find the front motor mount. I can't for the life of me find it. There's a plate on the very front of the truck that mounts to a plate on the very front of the motor with the attached mount. Looks like a trans mount, but he swears it from the front of the motor. Can anyone PLEASE post a link to where I can find one of these for him? Thanks! -Shayne |

One more.
Also, I can't find a replacement radio with newer features. I did a bunch of searches on both these things, but no luck. I thought the RetroSound Apache was close, but it has rounded sides and this is a short rectangle. Any ideas? |

on the mount, go to LMC truck parts.
The engine is a Pontiac, Custom Autosound for the radio

I looked on LMC the other day and couldn't find it. Do you have a part number I could try?

You may have to get that mount re-vulcanized.
Try these guys the do a lot of motor mounts for older vehicles. http://www.then-now-auto.com/. They would be worth a call |

Appreciate the effort guys. I'm having a hell of a time trying to find it. Very surprised it's so hard to come by.

Nobody is making the odd GMC stuff . Million people make the common parts. All about $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ . I may be able to get one but would take a little time and research. Thanks good luck.
