The reluctor has a point broken off. What caused that? Who made this distributor?

Broken reluctor
The distributor was replaced by maker.
The broken part is a very difficult part to make. This part is cast then machined and is made from very powerful magnetic particles. The part is very hard and sensitive to any shock. Many parts do not make it to assembly. Very few parts like this fail. Maker is very good with replacement.
