Powerglide Speedometer Leak

Finally getting the truck back together after a complete frame off restoration. Powerglide transmission was rebuilt a few years ago and I filled with transmission fluid to keep the gaskets from drying out. I attached the speedometer cable this weekend and now I have a leak where the speedometer cable connects to the transmission. Any ideas?

Re: Powerglide Speedometer Leak

The o-ring may have worn a groove in the plastic driven gear. I had to replace one on a 400 to get it to stop leaking. You could also try putting 2 o-rings in and just move the clip back that holds it in.
