Ls swap oil pan- 71 c10 suburban

Planning my ls swap for upcoming winter and not sure if I need different oil pan. After some research the truck pan looks like it fits but not sure if clearance will be an issue as I'm lowered 3.5" in the front. Post up what pan your using, drop and what you have for clearance.

Re: Ls swap out pan- 71 c10 suburban

Stock truck pan will usually hang down below the crossmember an inch or so, depending on mounts used. The GM muscle car pan is an inch or so shallower so usually ends up being even with it. That is the cheapest way to go since you can pick up the pan and everything to go with it brand new for only a couple hundred bucks. If youre lowering the truck, I would swap it out just for peace of mind.

I think I'll go with the GM pan. Roads around here are terrible. Not worth saving a few hundred bucks

Is this the pan you are reffering to?

I am about to begin getting all the parts ready to swap my '71 burb over to an LS drivetrain and mine is lowered on bags. Nothing too drastic but its got 2.5 inch drop spindles and bags up front so it does sit pretty low when its dropped all the way down.

That's the one that I used, works well!
