The other option is to call Yank or Circle-D or one of the other converter companies with all your info and they'll spec or recommend you one. Maybe point them the the dyno graph on TSP's site too. My nonsense guess is 2800-3200 for DD? Not too up on the converter voodoo though. |

Have you ever run a stall before above 3000 . If not you may not like it for a daily driver . That cam has a slight lope and should do fine with a stall below 3000. You could probably get by with the stock converter .Above 3000 you are going notice a slip while accelerating and when it hits lock up it will have a pretty good rpm drop . Tuning is a must . If you stay below 3000 , 2600 to 2800 it may be closer to what you want for a daily .
If you are more performance minded and don't mind the slip . Circle d has some good choices . I have run there 278mm 3200 and am now running there 3600 . But I am more performance oriented and I do drive it on the street as well as the track when the buddys want to go . I guess what I am saying is there is a personal choice involved here . And no one can tell you that . Me personally I don't mind the stall but its not my daily. A lot of people drive daily with there 3200 and above stalls but they know what to expect . |

I daily drove a Yank ss3800 on a stock LS1 and it ripped. Took a couple days to get used to it but I loved it. Tuned to lock up around 40 and once locked was just like stock. Pulled 1.5 60' at the track on drag radials too.
In my opinion you'd want at least 3200 if you're doing anything bigger than stock. That's a nice compromise of stockish characteristics but you'll get the benefits of acceleration and shift extension. |

Ended up going with the Circle D HP 278mm Torque Converter; 3000 - 3200 rpm. We will see how it does when I get things put together. r

Good deal , I ran that same converter and it did just fine . You may have to tune your lockup mph and throttle position to you liking .
