After almost 2 years, found my white whale!
If you visit the parts board, you'll know I've been keeping an eye out forever (or it feels like it) for the factory parts to restore my truck's fuel system.
Today it arrived. Did you know back in April of 78 you could ship a 2 and a half foot long box through UPS for.... a buck and a half? Opening her up still has the parts line broadcast sheet, kind of a cool item since I never see these often: Part has the original tag too: Now remember, always listen to the general: And here she is, the elusive monojet thermal air cleaner for a power brake truck, brand new, never touched an engine down to the original 40 year old filters inside! After looking so long, a bit hard to believe I turned one up. It's also interestin seeing what one of the looked like fresh off the factory line, in terms of fit, finish, small defects .....problem is, this one makes some of my other parts look ratty!! I may just have to look for some other, better, replacements |
